Barnwood Cottage is a brand new renovation for 2009 and is an old farm building in a delightful position opposite Carsington Water, surrounded by the beautiful Derbyshire Dales countryside. Our well equipped and comfortable two bedroom cottage offers spacious living accommodation with plenty of character; original beams, exposed stonework, and an attractive private courtyard to enjoy the superb views.
Its idyllic situation, on the edge of the Peak District, is the perfect base for exploring and enjoying the many local attractions. For the keen walkers and bird watchers amongst you, it has the added benefit of being directly on the circular path around Carsington Water, with its watersports facilities and teeming wildlife. Indeed, there are many scenic walks nearby including the High peak and Tissington Trails, and the Dales of Thorpe, Dovedale and Milldale.
Barnwood is also well placed for visiting the historic towns of Wirksworth, Ashbourne, Matlock and Bakewell, in addition to the stately homes of Chatsworth, Kedleston, Haddon and Sudbury. With Many other attractions in the vicinity there is something to suit all ages.
