From the moment you arrive at Blakelow cottages, your only responsibility is to have a good time! We aim to do everything we can to ensure your stay with us is as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
With stupendous views to Chatsworth House, romantic Candle, delicious Cranberry, gorgeous Christmas and cozy Chestnut cottages provide a fabulous retreat for guests who want to get away from it all somewhere quiet, peaceful and beautiful but at the same time undoubtedly luxurious.
Candle Cottage (sleeps 2)
This cottages oozes romance, with its high vaulted ceiling, fabulous crystal chandelier and sumptuous décor. The open plan living room has an exposed limestone wall housing the magnificent fireplace and log burning stove, French doors lead onto a private patio area. Also on this floor are the well appointed kitchen and luxury bathroom with bath and shower over. Stairs from the sitting room lead to an enchanting galleried bedroom, complete with antique furniture and king-size bed
Christmas Cottage (sleeps 4)
A superb cottage with breathtaking views on all sides. The gritstone fireplace and inset log burning stove in the spacious open plan living room invite you to curl up in front of the fire and admire the views to Chatsworth House. French doors from the kitchen lead onto the patio, for leisurely alfresco meals. The bathroom with bath and shower over is on the ground floor. The first floor has a double and a twin bedroom both with wonderful views across open countryside, there is also a second shower room, with WC and wash hand basin on this floor.
Cranberry Cottage (sleeps 4)
Traditional on the outside, with contemporary luxury living on the inside.
The spacious, stylishly furnished, airy, open plan living room’s French door leads onto the south facing patio where you can breakfast basking in the warm sunshine, the kitchen is beautifully equipped and the chic, modern ground floor bathroom has a walk in shower.
Upstairs, both of the bedrooms have double beds and views over the surrounding countryside.
Chestnut Cottage (sleeps 1)
The former pigsty is all on one level, you enter into the kitchen which is modern, airy and still has one of the stone feeding toughs in the exposed limestone wall. The sitting room has a vaulted ceiling, also a dining table and chairs. Views from the sitting room are over the large garden, and fields beyond.
The bedroom has a double bed, there is a well appointed shower room with hand rails and seat.
Chestnut Cottage has been graded 4 stars by the VisitBritain inspectors – it couldn’t achieve 5 stars for the simple reason that it doesn’t have a bath… which is a great shame in these days of eco and green awareness and the need to look after the earths resources.
