Description
Westlea studio, which is situated in the gardens of Westlea Lodge on the rural edge of Matlock, is perfectly positioned to explore the many charms of the Peak District.

The studio is a stone-built  ground-floor apartment, with ample private car parking, enjoying panoramic views of the valley and Riber Castle perched on the opposite hill.

The studio comprises an open-plan living area with dining and kitchen facilities.
The fitted kitchen features a mini-oven, micro-wave, and fridge-freezer, with dining table and chairs. In summer, meals can be enjoyed on the patio. The  comfortably furnished sitting area is equipped with television and DVD, CD player, books and games. The bedroom, with double bed, leads to a generous shower room and wc. All linen is provided, as is a welcome pack and local information. Prospective guests are invited to contact  the owners with specific enquiries. We regret we cannot accept pets or smoking.

A favourite bolt-hole for the artist Rob Poynton, Westlea studio is convenient for local walks amongst woods and fields, yet ten minutes walk into town for all facilities. There  are  bus stops  for further travel within one minute’s walk.

Local attractions easily reached by car or public transport are Crich Tramway Museum, Cromford, Matlock Bath, Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House. The surrounding hills offer many well-mapped walks. Further afield for a day out are Eyam, the Blue John caverns,Tissington Hall, and Buxton. The market town of Bakewell, with its museum and antique shops, is close by, and a tour of the many villages and contrasting styles of countryside offer much of interest to the observant traveller. For those wanting more rigorous exercise, Kinder Scout and Edale are within easy reach.

Matlock and Bakewell both offer a variety of cafes and restaurants, whilst further afield  uthentic unchintzed farm pubs offer real ale, good food and a settle by the fire.

The weekly rates are from £190 to £320. Short breaks are available.
