Description
Nestled in the picturesque hamlet of Milldale, Millway Cottage is an integral part of the Valley View property with it own front door and use of the garden to the rear of the property.  It has idyllic views of the Dovedale valley and the surrounding countryside, this most magnificent beautiful stretch of the river is an extremely popular tourist attraction.

Just half a mile from Milldale is the larger village of Alstonefield lying between the lower Dove and Manifold valleys. It is a pretty village that has not been spoilt by the large number of tourists it receives each weekend. The village is centred on the village green with the splendid George Inn, where you can get good value pub food.

The historic town of Ashbourne is 7 miles south of Milldale. It is a lively market town offering a wealth of good eating-places including Chinese, Indian, brassieres, and highly recommended restaurants, even an excellent fish and chip shop.

Fishing - This 2 mile stretch of river from Milldale towards Hartington is historically famous for its trout fishing. Permits can be obtained locally.

AMENITIES INCLUDE:  Millway Cottage is a totally self-contained cottage that sleeps 2-4 people. As stated above the cottage forms part of the Valley View property as seen in the picture.  The Cottage has just been completely refurbished and decorated to a high standard throughout.

The ground floor of the property comprises of an entrance hall, double bedroom, bath/shower, and the stairs to the first floor lead into the kitchen and lounge/dining room. The lounge has a sofa bed, which sleeps two, a dining table and four folding chairs, and the kitchen is fully equipped.

We regret there is no smoking in the cottage. One Dog is permitted but this must be discussed with the owner before the booking is made.

COTTAGE INFORMATION
(THIS IS A NON-SMOKING COTTAGE)

Downstairs bedroom
You will find towels for your use and an additional blanket for the bed in the wardrobe cupboard.  We have the heating on in the morning and at night in the winter but if you find you are cold at night please use the heater.

Bathroom
The cupboard in the bathroom contains cleaning equipment, clothes rail for the radiators, hot water bottles and a torch. You may find the torch handy when walking up to the local pub at night - The George – situated at the top of the road (turn left out of the cottage). Please feel free to use the toiletries.

Upstairs kitchen
In the kitchen you will find all the necessary cleaning materials under the sink in the cupboard.  Pots and pans are also in this cupboard. All utensils and crockery are to the right of the sink.  The white cupboard under the work surface has casserole and cooking pots plus a teapot in it.   When you have filled the bins could you please empty into the main bin, which sits in the corner of the walkway up to the cottage.

Lounge area
The settee in the lounge converts to a double bed by lifting the two handles on the base of the settee that runs along side the wall parallel to the kitchen table.  The other two handles (on the immediate right side of the settee) contain all the relevant bedding. There are a selection of books, games and DVD’s, please use them for your information and enjoyment.

Outside
To the left of the front door is a gate leading to the back garden. Please feel free to use this and enjoy the view from the seats at the top of the steps (be careful they can be slippy!).
If you have a dog could you please keep them on a lead at the front of the house – we have a territorial dog, chickens and also numerous ramblers using the footpath. Could you also only use the back garden area for their toilet breaks!!

Are conveniently located in Alstonefield, Fenny Bentley and Ashbourne

Finally – enjoy your stay and if there is anything you need please do not hesitate to knock on the door of the main house or leave us a note!

Tariff

PAYMENT DETAILS
• Please telephone or e-mail us first, to check whether your chosen dates are available.
• A booking form will be sent out to you, please fill in and return plus your cheque for the 25% deposit (or the full amount if the holiday is within four weeks) made payable to: Beverley Kippax.
• We will confirm your booking in writing.
• Four weeks before the start of your stay please send the remaining 75% of your rent.
• We will then acknowledge your cheque, and send you details of how to get there.
• Two or three days before you arrive, please ring to confirm final arrangements.
• We regret that we are not yet set up to take payment on credit cards, we can only accepted either a cheque or postal order made payable to Beverley Kippax.
• If you cancel the booking we will return the deposit if we are able to re-let the week
