Close to Darley Dale Station from where the steam heritage line runs and Whitworth Park, Darley Moor is a good base from which to explore the Derwent Valley Heritage Way. You can spot wildlife as the village is close to the River Derwent and also Flash Dam, a large expanse of water popular with fishermen. Perhaps stop off in one of the country pubs close by ; the small country town of Matlock is only a short drive away as is the resort of Matlock Bath from where you can climb the Heights of Abraham or take a cable car across the gorge. On the doorstep of so many pretty Peak District villages where self catering holiday cottages can be found, Darley Moor is a good base for a great holiday.
