Upper Hulme is a hamlet situated just inside North Staffordshire near the border with Derbyshire and between Leek and Buxton. Set on the upper reaches of the River Churnet, Upper Hulme boasts one pub and is a popular destination both because of its picturesque position and its proximity to several rock formations – The Roaches, Hen Cloud and Ramshaw rocks, all of which are favourite destinations for the many climbers and walkers who visit the Peak District. The village houses are built from the rich red local sandstone and make the perfect setting for a stay in one of the area’s self catering holiday cottages.
