With exceptional views of the Derbyshire and Staffordshire countryside and bracing walks from its doorstep, Slade House Farm is a delightful retreat within the Peak District. All three holiday cottages have been renovated to designs by the award winning architect owner, Alan Philp.

Experience the tranquility and serenity of Slade House Farm throughout the four seasons - possibly the most idyllic, peaceful location in the Peak District.

For the comfort of all our clients, the holiday cottages are totally non smoking and sorry, no pets due to our country location.

Slade House a grade 2 listed building is a traditional four storey 18th century farmhouse restored and renovated to provide purpose built holiday accommodation for 8 persons.

Slade House awarded four star grade by Visit Britain is the largest of the three properties and is a former yeoman’s house dating back to 1642.

From a small south facing garden, an entrance hall leads to the kitchen/dining room, a shower room and a family sitting room.

The large quarry tiled farmhouse kitchen and dining room may well prove to be the place where your family will congregate enjoying the warmth of the wood burning stove set in the original Staffordshire stone fireplace around the large round kitchen table.

The room is well lit and fitted with light oak wood kitchen units and integrated appliances including a oven, fridge ,dishwasher and freezer. A separate shared laundry room is available with washing machine and tumble dryer.

The comfortable sitting room with a living flame gas fire overlooks the bottom garden with views to the open countryside and Thorpe Cloud hill to the east.

On the first floor, there are two double bedrooms, one with a four poster bed and the other with a king size bed both with en-suite bathrooms.

A good level of privacy is afforded by the spacious third and fourth bedrooms being situated on the second floor with a further bathroom.

Slade CottageSlade Cottage is a two storey wing of the original 18th century farmhouse restored and renovated to provide purpose built holiday accommodation for 4 persons and ideally suitable for a young family with children.
Slade cottage is graded four stars by Visit Britain and is entered from a sheltered south east facing paved courtyard and cobbled patio.

There is a wealth of old beams which blend with lighter coloured timbers in this sympathetically restored property even maintaining as a feature the steep staircase( unused ) to the original cheese room.

On the ground floor the kitchen dining room with its quarry tiled floor and original farmhouse range has fitted units and appliances including split level oven and hob dishwasher and fridge/freezer as well as the square pine table.

Off this area is the double bedroom with a king size bed- en suite bathroom with an over bath shower.

A cloaks and shower room with basin is also off the kitchen dining area.

At first floor the cottage is designed with a large lounge with the original oak beams , sloping ceilings and a wood burning stove set against a red brick chimney feature.

A further cosy twin bedded room is also situated on the first floor with an en-suite lavatory and wash hand basin.

Externally, the patio area is an area to enjoy the views over the garden to the spectacular countryside.

Slade TopsSlade Tops is a delightful, split level barn conversion for two, in an idyllic National Park location.  It has been designed by its award-winning architect owner, Alan Philp, and has a sunny living room, kitchen diner, a four poster bedroom and a bath/shower room.

There are exceptional views over the Derbyshire and Staffordshire countryside which you can enjoy from the garden table, and bracing walks from the doorstep. 

Slade Tops offers quality accommodation and has been graded 5 stars by Visit Britain and provides instant relaxation.

The spacious comfortable lounge with a high level boarded ceiling and a wood burning stove leads down to a fully fitted dining-kitchen area with hand built American cherry wood units with integrated oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

The bedroom with a king size four poster bed and a separate bathroom with bath shower attachment and bidet as well as a separate shower cubicle completes this individual cottage.

The grass lawn area with teak garden furniture and parasol completes this individual cottage. There's a pub two miles away.
