Description
One bedroom cottage.
The Hillside Cottage is a beautifully renovated limestone cottage built in the 1880’s with interesting features left from its past history, including exposed beams.
The cottage offers a new fully fitted luxury kitchen with a Smeg gas cooker and electric oven, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. There is also a cosy lounge on the ground floor. On the first floor there is a light and airy double bedroom with a skylight window letting in lots of natural daylight. There is also a stylish modern bathroom with a brand new shower.
The cottage has solid oak floors throughout giving this traditional cottage a modern feel.
The cottage also has a beautiful South facing sunny cottage garden at the front of the property with scenic countryside views over the surrounding hills.
It is situated on a quiet and scenic hillside above the interesting and historical market town of Wirksworth, with plenty to explore in the town and good walking and cycling routes nearby, including the High Peak Trail and Carsington Water reservoir.
The cottage is just 6 miles from Matlock, with a host of attractions, including the Heights of Abraham, with its fascinating owl maze and water gardens. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are also less than half an hour drive away.
The cottage has gas central heating, bed linen and towels included in the rent.
Accessibility Please note that unfortunately the cottage is not suitable for people with limited mobility, as there is no allocated parking space for the cottage. However, you can park on the nearby residential streets, followed by a short uphill walk to the cottage. Also, inside this traditional cottage there are fairly steep wooden steps to the first floor.
Sorry, but no children please. No smoking and no pets allowed.
Amenities Shop 1 mile, pub 10 mins walk. The cottage is located on a hill, and therefore has a steady incline from the town.
The nearest railway station is Cromford, and there is a reasonably regular bus service from Cromford to Wirksworth on the 6.1. Trent Barton Bus.
Happy to answer any queries or questions.
