Description
The Stable is situated in the grounds of our family home on the edge of the peak district, 2.5 miles behind Chatsworth House woods, at 1053ft altitude, and approximately 7 miles from Bakewell the ‘capital of the Peak District’ where you will find a range of delightful shops, café’s and public houses where you can eat or on a sunny day you can sit by the river in the park and have a picnic!
Also the town of Matlock is 4 miles from the cottage which also hosts a range of shops and cafes.
If you want to travel further the larger town of Chesterfield is approximately 9 miles away with its famous crooked spire, and the city of Sheffield is approximately 18 miles from the cottage.
It is set on a quiet country road amidst forestry, meadows and bleak moor land with regular visits from Woodpeckers, Buzzards, Cuckoos, Curlews, Tree Creepers and the odd Sparrow Hawk, Redwing and, most of which can be seen out of the windows of ‘The Stable’.

There are many tourist attractions within easy reach, leaflets are kept in the stable for our guests to use.
A well behaved dog is welcome, although there is a small and owners are requested to keep dog on a leads while in the grounds as there are sheep in the neighbouring fields.

High Season, Christmas and New Year £210-£325pw
Weekends available Friday-Monday @ £45 per night
